Installation of Ember on Windows and Linux should be pretty straight forward. Nonetheless, here are some tips on getting Ember installed on Linux.

You need the latest Ember executable
Autopackage
Ember comes prepackaged in an Autopackage installation file. Everything is self contained and you don't need to install any support code yourself before running the Ember installation executable. If you have any problems you can get help from the Autopackage site.
Install of Ember
With your mouse double click on the .package file of ember or type :
$ sh ember-0.5.2.x86.package
If you already have autopackage installed and want to install from the command line you will need to write:
$ package install ember-0.5.2.x86.package
After installation you will get an "Ember" entry in your application menu. It can also be run from the command line with the command.
$ ember
How to use ember
Just small irc-helps :
erik : the command /list_commands shows a list of all available commands
erik : pressing F6 detaches the camera from the avatar and allows you to fly around
erik : F7 switches between wire frame mode and regular mode
erik : "prt scr" takes a screenshot
